MOS EISLEY CANTINA

Here are just a few of the patron’s at the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine…

Kabe

Kabe was taken from her home world as a child and sold into slavery. Shortly after, however, she was abandoned on the planet Tatooine.

Lost and alone, Kabe ran into Muftak. Muftak eventually became her best friend and her protector. They also became partners in crime. While Muftak provided the muscle, Kabe brought home the credits (money) through thievery and pick pocketing.

One night Kabe and Muftak decided to break into Jabba the Hutt’s townhouse in Tatooine. Their plan was to run in, grab whatever they could carry, and run out again. However, once they got into the townhouse, they ran into an injured Rebel Soldier who offered them huge credits to run a courier mission for him. The pair agreed and ended up $30,000 richer. With the money, they purchased a ship and were able to leave Tatooine and go on many adventures together.

Muftak

Muftak’s story is an interesting one. Muftak’s cocoon was accidentally loaded onto an Imperial Freighter and dropped off on the desert world of Tatooine. When Muftak awoke from this cocoon he had no idea where he was or who he was. Not only did he have no friends or family, but he also did not know another of his species.

Muftak grew up on Tatooine without ever running into another of his species. He did however, have a friendly nature which enabled him to quickly make friends. Also, his sheer size and strength helped to keep him alive in the violent city port of Mos Eisley’s.

Muftak ran into Kabe and the two quickly became live long friends.

Ponda Baba

Ponda Baba is a bad tempered pirate and smuggler. Ponda teamed up with the mentally unstable and homicidal Dr. Evazan after saving his life in the Corellian system.

Together, Ponda Baba and Dr. Evazan, became smugglers. They shipped illegal spice for Jabba the Hutt. Their smuggling brought them to the desert world of Tatooine, where Ponda Baba picked the wrong fight! Ponda Baba is seen in the Cantina Scene where Obi-Wan Kenobi uses his lightsaber to cleave off Ponda’s arm.

Ponda Baba survived the incident and left Tatooine with Dr. Evazan. Dr. Evazan had created a machine to transfer the conscious mind of one individual into that of another. It is rumoured that Dr. Evazan used this technology to transfer Ponda Baba’s mind into that of an Andoan Senator.

Dr. Evazan

Dr. Evazan was once a promising young surgeon until his genius turned to madness. Dr. Evazan applied to the Imperial Academy, however, they sensed his madness and had him institutionalized on a prison planet. The doctor quickly escaped and bought a forged medical license. With this license he began his unethical medical practices that eventually lead to the posting of a bounty in the amount of 1 million credits on his head.

The bounty hunter Joda Kast tracked Dr. Evazan down to his surgery clinic the “Cutting Edge”. He chased the insane doctor and actually shot him in the face (the scars are visible in the photo below) causing permanent disfigurement. However, before Jodo Kast could collect the bounty, Dr. Evazan was rescued by Ponda Baba.

Dr. Evazan continued in his insane / unethical medical practices, his current whereabouts are unknown. Although there are numerous high bounties on his head.

Momaw Nadon

Momaw Nadon is a quiet scholar who dedicates his life towards his people’s natural religion, known as Mother Jungle.

The Imperial Star Destroyer Conquest made orbit around his home planet and demanded to know the secrets of his people and their affiliation with nature. Rather than have his planet destroyed, Momaw Nadon divulged the secrets of his people’s connection with nature. As a result he was excommunicated by his people.

Momaw Nadon moved to Mos Eisley where he bought a large house. In his house he began to raise many exotic plants from many different worlds. His home also served as a safe place for Rebel Troops.

Shortly after Return of the Jedi, Momaw Nadon was accepted back by his people. He was finally reunited with his wife and children.
