THE BOUNTY HUNTERS

Here are the Bounty Hunters. These are the most ruthless and fearsome beings in the Star Wars Universe. They are also my favourites!! I love all the Bounty Hunters, especially Boba Fett…

Boba Fett

Boba Fett is a legendary bounty hunter, who accepts warrants from the Empire, the Rebellion, and Criminal Underworld. His distinctive Mandalorian armour strikes fear into the hearts of fugitives everywhere. Boba Fett is the most fearless and ruthless of all the bounty hunters.

Boba Fett has faced off which characters such as Prince Xizor, Han Solo, and even Darth Vader. In the comic book “Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire” Boba Fett had a chance to destroyed Darth Vader, but instead chose to let him live.

In Return of the Jedi, Boba Fett is seen falling into the mighty Sarlacc. Many believed that this was the end of the popular bounty hunter. However, after falling into the Sarlacc, Boba Fett used a thermal detonator! Blowing up the Sarlacc from within! Boba Fett managed to crawl to the surface of Tatooine and, with the help of fellow bounty hunter Dengar, he survived. This was not the end of Boba Fett’s career; he continued to be a bounty hunter for years to come.

Dengar

Dengar, also known as Payback, is a successful bounty hunter. Unlike other bounty hunters, personal vendettas played a huge role in his career as a bounty hunter.

Dengar was once a swoop-racer until a competition with Han Solo cut short his career. Dengar crashed his vehicle into Han Solo’s. While Han survived without injury, Dengar experienced debilitating cranial trauma from the accident. After the accident, Dengar was operated on by the Empire – transforming him into a remorseless killing machine. The Empire removed all emotion from Dengar, with the exception of hatred and vengeance.

On one of his missions he ran into an Aruzan woman named Manaroo. Manaroo was able to bring back his long lost feelings and eventually the two fell in love.

Shortly after Jabba the Hutt’s death, Dengar found Boba Fett in the sands of Tatooine. After Boba’s recovery the two of them formed a partnership that lasted many years. In fact, Boba Fett even acted as best man at Dengar and Manaroo’s wedding.

IG-88

IG-88, project name Phlutdroid, was created by scientists in the Holowan Laboratories. IG-88 was to be the newest line of combat droid. However, shortly after activation, IG-88 achieved sentience. He slaughtered the Holowan scientists and copied himself into three duplicate droids. These droids were designated IG-88B, IG-88C, and IG-88D. Together with the new droids, IG-88 went on to be an assassin and bounty hunter who vision included galactic domination.

IG-88B became a bounty hunter who had a “dismantle on site” warrant in over 40 systems. IG-88B followed Boba Fett to Cloud City in pursuit of Han Solo. IG-88B attacked Boba Fett in Cloud City, however Boba got the drop on IG-88B, blowing him to pieces. If you look carefully at the scene where Chewbacca rescue’s the dismantled C3PO from the smelting plant, you can see IG-88B’s mechanical head next to the smelting machine.

IG-88C also followed Boba Fett to Cloud City. However, he chose to face off with Fett before landing. Fett managed to outmanoeuvre IG-88C and shoot his ship, destroying it and IG-88C.

IG-88D was reportedly destroyed by Dash Rendar on Ord Mantell. This however is just rumor.

The original IG-88 (or IG-88A) took over an immense droid factory on Mechis III and began to secretly reprogram every droid to obey his every order. This was in an effort to ensure that he had an immense army when he launched his uprising. IG-88A, in an ultimate attempt at galactic domination, downloaded his computer brain into the battle station computer core of the second Death Star. However, when the rebel forces destroyed the Death Star, they also destroyed IG-88A with it.

Bossk

Bossk is a Trandoshan bounty hunter. Trandoshan’s are a species of hunters. In their religion, they are rewarded in their afterlife according to the number of successful hunts they have led.

Trandoshan’s are gifted with the ability to regenerate lost limbs. They are a very strong and blood thirsty race. The Trandoshan’s often hunt Wookies for sport alone.

Bossk is the son of Cradossk, the respected hunter and leader of the mighty Bounty Hunters Guild. Bossk eventually took over the Bounty Hunters Guild (by killing his own father), however the Guild splintered into two factions: Bossk’s Guild Reform Committee and the True Guild (led by those loyal to the deceased Cradossk).

After the collapse of the Guild, Bossk worked freelance for a while, doing odd jobs with fellow hunters like Zuckuss and 4-LOM.

Zuckuss

Zuckuss is a bounty hunter with keen intuition. He practices his people’s ancient traditions of intuitive tracking. This has come in handy in his career as a bounty hunter.

During his employment with Jabba the Hutt, Zuckuss was teamed with the droid bounty hunter 4-LOM. Together they became a formidable team.

Zuckuss and 4-LOM achieved notoriety when they tracked down and captured Imperial Sector Governor Nardix for the Rebellion. Shortly after that, the team joined the Rebellion. This, however, did not last long. The pair quickly returned to their bounty hunter trade.

4-LOM

4-LOM was originally created to serve as a cabin steward aboard luxury liners. Programming errors lead to unexpected behaviour problems with the droid. 4-LOM began to seek challenge in stealing valuables from various passengers.

The droids thievery escalated and eventually grabbed the attention of Jabba the Hutt. Jabba had 4-LOM modified with a combat computer system and gave him the capability to harm other beings.

4-LOM later formed a partnership with the bounty hunter Zuckuss. Together they became a formidable team. During Return of the Jedi, Zuckuss and 4-LOM joined the Rebellion. This however did not last long, and they eventually returned to their bounty hunter trade.
